Adventures in Weddingland

January 25, 2009

Wedding Day= 24 hrs – sleep time

Wedding Preparations= endless hours!

I am always shocked by the challenge that I feel at the prospect of working on a new wedding. Each one is drastically individual and unique. While one may be pink in June, another is green in December and both will be stunning.

I was struck by the (almost disabling) flurry of excitement I felt upon scheduling a meeting with a potential client. She has an unconventional color scheme and I am so inspired by that. I am hoping she is open minded and willing to trust my experience. Is is crazy to use pineapple rinds in December? I think not!

Hello world!

January 24, 2009

Hello all. This blog will allow a small peek into the fascinating (sometimes boring), high- end (sometimes low- budget) world of floral design. I am an up- and- comer with big dreams about where God will take this company.

I have worked in the wedding industry for less than a year, yet I have already experienced my fair share of crazy brides who are flabbergasted at the idea that fuscia could ever be confused with hot pink. So, if you happen to be reading this and recognize that you may possibly qualify as a “crazy bride” please do us all a favor and take a deep breath (maybe a prozac) and let your vendors take the reins to the carriage that will deliver your perfect wedding.
